Johnny Lightning Christmas Ornaments

Postby TuckerCar » Tue Dec 05, 2006 12:40 pm

Just thought we could start a little post here for people to say where they've found these things. They always show up on eBay around November, but I never seem to see them in stores here in Chicago until after Christmas.

I know in previous years I've seen that at Hobby Lobby and Menards.

If you have found one, let us know where.

Johnny Lightning cars at Toys-r-Us

Postby Larry Clark » Tue Dec 05, 2006 9:40 pm

I have found the Tucker model before Thanksgiving each year at Toys-r-Us. It tends to be a popular mode that does not stay long on the shelfl (which is probably why they have been repeating it). I have not yet found a "white lightning" Tucker on the shelf (I do not know just how random the "white lightnig" is in the Tucker model).

Larry, White Lightnings are 1 per Master Case, I believe, which is 24 cases. (may be 12) And that's one White Lightning of all combines, finding a Tucker would be near impossible. I believe there are 12 cars in the Christmas Collection, so it would take you, if you get no duplicates, something like one in 2,000 cars!

In all my years of Johnny Lightning collecting, I have found exactly ONE white Lighting at retail. At a small, non-chain dollar store in Glens Falls NY. They had the entire Ford Thunderbird collection, and one of the White Lightnings was right on the pegs. It was a green metallic 68, and I did buy it! I actually didn't notice it until I got home, when I looked at all my new purchases. We went back and got a standard, non WL one, and I hung them toghter on my wall :)
